19 year old bicyclist sustains major injuries after being hit by a car in Redding

On Tuesday morning, a bicyclist was hit by a vehicle as he was going southbound on Hilltop Drive and Browning Street. He was struck from behind. The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. He also did not have a bike light and was wearing dark clothing. Redding police had to temporarily shut down the intersection at Hilltop Drive and Browning Street for several hours to investigate and clear the scene. According to reports, this collision is still being investigated.
