The CHP and the Tehama County Coroner's Office say 6 people, including an unborn child died when an Infinity crossed the center divide and slammed headfirst into a Dodge Ram.
Retired San Jose police captain Randall Schreifer, 52 was driving the Dodge Ram. His 48 year old wife has been badly injured.
Everyone in the Infinity died. The driver has been identified as 46-year-old Shawn Edward Chastain from San Diego County. His passengers were 47-year-old Thomas Sutter Bruce, 36-year-old Patti MacGregor Larsen and an 8 year old child who's name is not being released. What makes this loss even more devastating is that Patti Larsen was seven months pregnant at the time of the crash, and the unborn child also lost its life in the tragic event.
